Tips For A Great Event
Location: Preferably indoors but can also be performed outdoors for company picnics or other events when proper sound and lighting is available. View: An unobstructed view for all audience members is very important. Please make sure the table centerpieces do not restrict the view. Stage: When the group is small (less than 100) Rex can provide a small riser stage for visibility. For larger groups a platform stage (6’x6’ or larger) needs to be provided . There shouldn’t be any empty space between the riser and the audience. Dance floors set between the audience and the performer make it very difficult for the performer to connect. Sound: A sound system of suitable power for the venue with one microphone on a pole stand (not a microphone that is attached to a podium) and the microphone having approximately 12 feet of cord. A hand held wireless is fine if the sound quality is good. Lighting: House lights should be brought up to the point that facial expressions of audience members can be seen by their peers. Stage Placement: When possible if the room is not square the stage should be placed in the middle of the longest wall as per the diagram below. |
